“Travell Scott — Halifax County’s Overachiever of the Year” Charge #47: Breathing Too Loud

“An Enfield man is facing one of the largest criminal case loads Halifax County has ever seen. Authorities say Travell Scott has been charged with 83 counts tied to a string of break-ins, thefts, and property crimes that span several years and affect at least 39 confirmed victims.

Investigators say Scott repeatedly evaded arrest, slipping out through back doors or disappearing into wooded areas when officers closed in. But after a lengthy investigation, Enfield Police executed search warrants at his residence and recovered stolen property directly linked to the crimes.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office and SBI assisted in building the case, and officials say more than 40 additional warrants are still being processed. That means the total number of charges could climb even higher.

Community members are stunned by the scale of the case. Families and small businesses say they’ve endured repeated break-ins, and many are just now learning they were part of a larger pattern.

Tonight, Travell Scott remains in custody, facing dozens of counts of breaking and entering, larceny, and possession of stolen goods. Authorities say the investigation is still active — and more victims may come forward.
